What We Believe In

Our values don’t define our work. They define our approach to working.

These may not technically be “values”. Who knows? Who cares? We still think they’re pretty important.

Great Brands show their personality. So do great people.

We don’t want walking-talking-robots who look the same, sound the same, act the same, and who follow the same people on Twitter. It’s not interesting and it’s certainly not successful. You’re here because you bring something different to the table.

Don’t lose it. Your perspective will help us all see things from a completely different angle. Conformity is the enemy of creativity. So fly your freak flag and be the glorious, unique and interesting person that you are. Nice shirt, BTW.

Great Brands are honest. So are great people.

You know what’s a lot of work? Bullshitting. You tell one little fib which leads to another which leads to another and before you know it, you’re in a web of deceit so deep that it feels like you’re living the latest installment of The Matrix.

Smoke-and-mirror brands are being called out everyday and we recommend that our clients be as honest and transparent as they can be.

We need to follow our own advice—between ourselves and with our clients. The truth won’t only set you free, it’ll set you up: For more success, more fun, and more opportunities.

(Psst: While it’s ok to make mistakes, it’s even better to admit them.)

Great Brands partner with others. So do great people.

Hey, multitasker. You may be able to tap your toe and play the tambourine while simultaneously cooking a pot roast and updating a Wikipedia entry but you’re not a one-person band. You’re surrounded by an ensemble of talented and smart people who can help. Seek them out.

Now, that doesn’t mean that every task starts with a group hug and a collective affirmation courtesy of the cast of Up with People.

Most of the time, you’ll need to put your head down and simply get your shit done. Contrary to what your parents may have told you, you don’t know it all and you can’t do it all. See that person beside you? Neither can they. Come together. Work together. Succeed together.

Great Brands are great communicators. So are great people.

The secret to a successful relationship is communication. Don’t believe us? Just ask anyone who has ever been dumped over the phone. Set us all up for success with constant communication so those who need to know what’s going on, do.

Admittedly, there is a fine line between communicating and oversharing. If the person you’re talking to is nodding, that’s good. If they’re nodding off, that’s not. Say what you need to say and move on. There’s no need for you to write status updates that resemble the first 5 chapters of War & Peace.

Great Brands partner with others. So do great people.

Wanting to discover a better way is more of an intellectual exercise than a business one. The concept of the agency came out of one question: “What if?” What if we could build a place that was focused on continuously and passionately trying to find the better way? What would that look like? What would that do? How would that operate?

Answers and solutions don’t throw themselves in your lap but they’re out there. You just have to find them. Stay curious. Wonder. Ask questions. Look deeper. Seek to understand. Keep digging. Ya dig?
